There and Back Again

Well, once again, I’m back in the sand box. I had a great time home last month. The trip wasn’t all that good, but the time spent was. I got my swimming pool fixed and a few other little things done around the house, but for the most part it was lazy time for me. I enjoyed just sitting around, or floating, and was able to spend a lot of time with Cheri. Of course I went to the steak house a few times. They have opened up a real good steak house close to where I live so I don’t have to drive to Greenville anymore for a good steak.
Cheri is doing well. She is ready for all this to be over and me to come home for good. Leaving is getting harder each time I get on the plane. I’m tired of being away myself. I hope it will all be over in March of 09. That is our goal and plan anyway. I’m not sure what I will do them, but I have been contacted by a couple companies about work in the US, so we will see. One company is all over the world and I would be in the US, Europe, or just a couple Arabic countries. The nice part is that I wouldn’t be gone for months on end and there would be a fair amount of home time. Cheri would be able to travel with me if she wanted to also. I just have to get her over the “fear” of flying. She never has flown so I keep asking her if she hasn’t done it, how she can be scared of it. Besides I told her you just sit there, listen to the radio, and watch a movie or sleep, so it would be like she was at home on an off day.
I promise I will take pictures of the house and put them on the next time I go home. I thought of it several times, just was too lazy to do it. We still have a ways to go before we get things like we want them, but we are getting there. Cheri is still enjoying owning a house and being able to do what she wants to and how she wants to do it. We did get the pool table in and next time I come home we will get my big TV in the den so the race will be more like I’m there. We are in the process of fencing in the back yard so her “babies” will quit running around the neighborhood and out in the street. We now have two dogs and Cheri has an extra one. I don’t claim it, but she does so that makes three.
The kids are doing well. I was once again unable to see my children, but did talk to them. They seem to be enjoying the summer and school being out. Linda Jean just turned 17 the other day. She sure is getting old. She is looking forward to graduating next year and going to a Christian college in Knoxville TN. Crystal and Alyssa are both doing well from the phone conversations. Cheri’s children are doing ok also. Jessica was unable to find a summer job and Mary is just loafing around being a typical 15 yr old girl. Jessica will be starting her junior year at Furman in the fall. That makes her eligible to move out of the dorms and into an apartment on campus. She is looking forward to that.
Well, not much else to tell about. Work here is plodding on. We are getting a new company in soon and the one we have worked with for the last 15 months is leaving. IT is hard to believe I have been over here for 17 months; time sure has gone by fast, at times. The situation where I am is still the same, quiet and not a lot going on. I like it that way and it pays the same.
Once again I appreciate all the prayers and letters and I will post another article in a couple weeks. I am going to try to put some new pictures on if I can. The net has been so slow that I have not been able to upload them. They are from a trip I took up to Pigeon Forge, TN to Cades Cove. I love it up there, nice and peaceful and lots of animals to see and take pictures of. The scenery is nice also. Anyway, I must go but will be back soon.
