Happy New Year from the Sandbox

Once again I know it has been a while, but yes I’m still alive. I went home for a couple weeks and had a very good time with the family. We had a wonderful Christmas and then it was get back on the plane and back to reality. I spent New Years in Baghdad and am now back “home”. Momma and Daddy are doing fine and they sure did enjoy the steak dinner we had together. We were able to spend some time with the nephews-Robert and Ryan. They seem to be coping relatively well with BJU life. I was able to spend a few minutes with the girls and my how they are growing. Linda Jean of course is 16 and Crystal just turned 13, Alyssa hit the big 12 in Nov. Next year I guess I’ll have 3 teenage daughters----whew!!!
Life here is pretty much the same as when I left. It would appear that I’ll have another change in title shortly. I’m not exactly sure what I’ll be doing, but I know it won’t be more money. I guess the experience may pay off in the long run. I just put in for an extension and will be here till Sept 08. Then I’ll take the rest of the year off and deer/coon hunt. Oh yeah, and spend time with Cheri.
I thank every one that sent their regards at Christmas to the family and I as well as the prayers that have been sent. Mrs. Brown, your fudge was well worth 6000 mile trip. Cupcake I hope you are feeling better when I come back cause I sure do miss my devils food cake w/ chocolate icing cupcakes. Consider yourself hugged anyway.
That is about all for now. Things are really quiet around here and seem to be getting back to a “normal” pace—whatever that is.
I am going to try to put some new pictures up so check them out. I don’t have many new ones and for some reason we didn’t think to take any while I was home.
I hope and pray that all had a great holiday season and the new year is full of good things.
Steve
